The Kardashian Kollection

No, i did not spell that wrong , it really is called the Kardashian kollection. Ever wondered how you can get a piece of the Kardashian sisters unique style? well now you can, that is, if you have allot of spare dosh. I have recently found a boutique in America - i didn't go , i live in England- that sells some of this collection. They have gotten together- by them i mean the 3 sisters - and created a designer collection of approximately 69 items/accessories. From what i can gather it's either all bags or mostly bags.

The purple bag shown below or above or to the side wherever it bothers to appear , is an example of the collection.  It's quite nice, not necessarily my cup of tea but i would wear/carry it. It features a gold , metal , magnetic fastening thingy and a magenta coloured architectural/ geometrical pattern sown on the side. All in all it's nice enough however i personally wouldn't pay the $49.95 being asked for it, but that's jsut me. The bags range from $39.99 to around $139.99 (ish). Click here to be taken to the boutiques website for more info and more pictures. I do not own the photo's they were off their website. oki doki. <3

Springs hottest colours

1-Pink

A really cute, girly colour. You could wear different tones of it for a very couture finish or jsut add a splash of pink to your everyday wear, a pink romper, pink lipstick or maybe a pink scarf/necklace.

2-Orange

Orange is a bold colour, but worn right it can give a really statement, vintage feel to an outfit. To play it safe wear some hot orange nail polish or for a summer nights outfit , wear an orange dress with some gold jewellry and statement necklace.

3-Yellow

Yellow just seems such a springy colour, it makes em think of the sun, lamps and daisy's in a field, but maybe thats jsut me... But it is a really cheerful, lighthearted colour, a safer option to orange. I personally love my bright yellow belt that i ahev and i try to pair it with everyhting. You could go for a caramel shade in for example chino's or a golder shade for accesories, a yellow print sumemr dress or some yellow sandals. A really good way to introduce yellow is to add a yellow clutch, colour blocking and springs hottest colour.

4-Tropical blue

Blue is a bold but versatile colour , layerd in tones or in the odd accesory. Even just wearing it can make you feel like your on a beach or in the carabbean ( alright for some i allways go to wales or something..). A bright blue hold all allways looks good on holiday, perhaps a blue bangle or necklace with a blue jewel. Blue can also make dresses look really elegant and some blue high heels add a retro 80's colour popping feel.

5-Lavender
Lavender is a really good way to wear fashionable colours without it being in your face. Not personally your face, just generally in people's faces. Um so yh changing subject... Its a really nice soft muted shade of grey'y purple. I love a lilac colour, but purple is my fave so.. Its just so dreamy and soft. I think some sweepy purple eyeshadow or a lilac scarf can instantly add something to an outfit. Also a purple/lilac dress can look very proffesional and reserved in a really good way. Lilac heels add a soft feemmine touch to.
hope it helped <3 xxxPixe xxx

Spring/Summer 2011 hot colour trends

Today, I am on fire with blog posts, your going to have friction burn on your fingers from scrolling through my posts so fast.
A bit about colours:
Some colours have meanings, other's can change atmoshperes, some can brighten our days, calm them, or provoke ideas and inspire us. Some scream fashion and some scream barf. But together, with the right eye they can create something beautiful like a rainbow, and that is why colours and shapes are so popular this year.

Orange:
Orange is an exciting new introduction too our wardrobes this spring/summer. Its bold, daring and in your face, not to be worn by the faint hearted or body conscious. There are different ways to wear orange as can be seen. For example Prada used strong tones of orange to create the illusion of fire and burning fabric. Whereas Alberta opted for softer hues and combined those with neutrals like black and pastels like beige to make it a more versatile and easier to wear colour.

It can be seen in loads of different runway shows for example:

White:
White is always in fashion every summer/spring because it is really versatile, its soft, cool and just appropriate for summer. Because of this i would recommend investing in some sort of white garment. This year its not just white dresses but shorts, pants and tailored skirts.

Dark purple and bright pink:
These are more winter colours (particularly the purples) but we cannot ignore them as they are being introduced into many a designers collection. They add drama and texture to an otherwise plain outfit. Plus its my fave colour.

Light grey/stone:
Although considered boring, with the right blending and accessories grey can look very sheek and glamorous. For example pairing a soft , light grey with caramels, greens or pinks can look really good. Use it wildly with a variation of shades and tints.
Lemon:
Some people say lemon or yellow is too bold or old fashioned (like a mustard colour) but i disagree.  really vibrant bit of yellow can be the injeciton of colour a wardrobe needs, be it a bright necklace, pair of shoes, skirt or other garment. This colour can be worn it its most saturated form and in its most pastel state. It can be great for a sunny day but also in evening wear for example a metallic like gold. It is elegant and vintage at the same time.
Black:
Its elegant, its slimming, it's versatile and it's always on trend, what more do you want from a colour.
Blue and navy:
Ranging from turquoise to dark navy , it is so adaptable. It looks great in a suit but could also transform a glittering evening gown. It is elegant without being in your face but it can also make a statement in for example a blazer or pair of sky scraper heels. It's a really good tone because it can be pared with so many different colours and shades, whether the desired effect is contrasting or blended and soft pastells. Some designers eg Vivienne westwood used subdued tints of blue whereas Prada used an electric blue.
Light green:
Its soft, its summery and it looks great on something with a print or texture. It can be used to give a military feel to an outfit but again can look soft.

Floral prints:
Brought back every summer and never get old. Be it a floral sash/accessory/print on a dress /skirt or pair of leggings, it is a very easy trend to be introduced into your wardrobe whatever your style. It can be found anywhere from high street to catwalk. You don't have to be a fashion junkie too know that this is a hot trend. Just wearing it puts you in the right mood on a hot summers day but it can equally brighten a gloomy one. Some deisgners used obvious sumemr pallets and floral prints, others used distorted , blurred indistinctive floral patterns and some used it to make accesories liek belts and headdresses.

Stripes:
Stripes are also popular but not as popular as floral prints. They are an easy way to add definition or to update an outfit. They can be multicoloured stripes or more artitectual.

Polkadot: Polka dots can be really effective, be it small dots on a vintage style blouse or large spots on a 50's style evening dress. I think they look cute , especially a short prom style dress with black and white polka dots and then like a red pair of shoes or belt.

Summary:
As you can see , although the colour and pattern pallete for this summer isn't very diverse or different (smae thing i guess :/ doh! ) There is alot of experimenting to be done with it and alot of fun to be had, so enjoy and thanks for reading! <3

Lady Gaga's meat dress lives on

all rights resevred to original owners
Not literally because it's a bunch of animal carcass's so it can;t actually live on in a breathing sense, more in a spritual fame sorta way. If fame can be spiritual.

When and where?
Lady Gaga known for her outlandish fashion statements over the years first wore the dress to the MTV video awards last year.
Why?
Apparently it was supposed to be making a powerful political statement about how the US army should not discriminate against Homosexuals by not letting them join the army. I don't know about you but i wasn't getting that vibe. She said the US is preventing its military from enjoying "the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer"."
What?
A dress made entirley from meat. It was made out of prime rib and steak.

What has happened to this dress since that night? The dress is going to be showcased until february in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, America. The dress was kept in a meat locker, covered with chemicals, dried by taxidermists and painted to appear fresh. Thats a lot of trouble over a dress, i was personally thinking more wack the oven on, whip up some fries and enjoy a load of steak , but every man, woman and popstar to themselves.

No copyright intened, all rights reserved to vogue
It has come to my attention that we could be expecting a comeback of 40's glamour this autumn/winter.

What is 40's fashion?
Some must have key items and accessories are:
  • Pussy bows
  • Skinny belts
  • Pencil skirts
  • Fake fur
  • Pearls
  • Gloves
  • Big clutch bags
  • Sun glasses
  • And a ton of class and womanly charm.
Who's done 40's and how ( from what i have seen from the catwalk shows):
Miu Miu: fur wraps over tailored dresses.
Donna Karan: Created a sexy feminine silhouette by wrapping and twisting fabric. Used pearls and elbow length gloves. Pulled the outfits together with a classic skinny belt.
Frida Giannini at Gucci: Fedoras and pussy bow blouses.
Jonathon Saunders: lots of colour and classis pieces.

Sneak Peak Chanel fall 2011

Ok images courtesy of style.com and information courtesy of http://www.purseblog.com/chanel-bags/sneak-peek-chanel-fall-2011-handbags.html so have a look at both , all rights reserved and shizzle.
So this is sort of a preview of whats to come from the fall collection from chanel. Its not enough to fully evaluate but it can atleast give you an impressiona nd if you ahte it, chances are your going to ahte the final collection and visa versa.

Clutches
I like this one in a statement dont mess with me kinda way. I wouldnt use it i dont think, but then my bags have to be literally strapped too me in order for me not too loose them and even so the contents allways seems to find itself around my house-its not my house im still in high school. For this clutch bag i would wear either a geometrical dress whcih had orange shapes on it, a belt and heels-if in the day big sun glasses, bangles- or an all one colour dress, posibley shift/strapless with heels/flats-balley pumps- and a contrasting belt all one colour too say purple dress, green belt and orange clutch for that colour blocking fashionable style thats everywhere at the minute.

Hand bags/satchels
To all of you who this picture confused don't worry your not alone. I originally thought it was one of those effects to make it look like it was being reflected liek on water? but if you look closeley you will see its a tote on top of a clutch purse. I assume they are a matching set and not actually sown togetehr which would be funny but not practical. Then again! it would save time and save buying two bags. I think chanel have got an idea in the making here. Anyway The tote and the clutch both have a gold and silver shadowed snake detail. The tote has a gold chain handle making it pretty chic in my veiw and what looks like a brown centre, you know like the ribbon running through it. The clutch has a flap top which fastens ussing thast cute fastening which i cant really explain in the space i have left.
I quite like this one in a weird vintage kind of way. I personally wouldn't be able to pull it off or have anything to wear it with but its kinda cool in that old yet fashionable sense. I would wear this with like blouse shorts, brown ankle boots, brown woven style belt, some gold chainy jewellery and those vinatge style earings with the fake pottery queen or soemthing inside them? so full on vintage. Oversized chunky brown/pastel cardigan if its cold.
I like this one too, I think you could use this for night and day. Personally i would have this as a really fashionable, statement acccesory to a work outfit/lunch date/night out in the town. I would keep the outfit chick for work- black  tuxedo, rufley blouse, pencil skirt, vintage belt, gold jewlery, middle sized heels. Maybe some of those driving gloves in brown too-to contrast with the bag.

Purses
This one is kinda cool in a retro bright orange kind of way but i don't think i would buy it for whatever price chanel is charging for it. And i wil tell you why. I got like the exact same one ages ago in a sort of limey /sea green colour free from a magazine. No joke they are basicly the same. exept now i think of it i think mine might be more squarey? but still the same quilted , purse look going on there. Dont get me wrong i would choose he chanel option if i could but sadly i think that decisions up to my pocket money and to buy this would put me in debt for years. This bag makes a handy, statement and quick accesory to jazz up an outfit.

This ones wuite nice too. Because its black it will go with almost any outfit and still makes a statement like the one above without being too over powering. The flower detail gives it a summery/glitzy/femminine touch but its not too over the top. For a highstreet version i would try primark or new look/h&m. It again sports the chanel logo on the zip.

My favourite
This one is my favourite because i love the python detail and the flap front that fastens. The chains really cool as well. Most of all i love the way it kind of looks like its decaying, in a good way, sort of mossy, like crumbling stone work. That might be because someone i know chose corrosion and decay for their textiles project, i did historical fashion and for my 2nd architectural detail. Yes baby , im doing historical fashion at the moment. Anyway chanel makes this gorgous unique piece fit in its dystopian Fall 2011 collection.

Alexander Mcqueen Limited edition/gifts

Hey so these are some gifts i found and also some limited edition Alexander Mcqueen items that i wante to share with you because they are really ncie and i love Alexander Mcqueen coz hes a babe. In case you don't know hes a fashion designer, he is actually dead-killed himself :/ , but his fashion  house/couture label has taken his palce to continue to produce gorgous items.

Savage Beauty

First is the Silk scarf.(left! the book is not a scarf, i know revelation....) It was created to celebrate Savage beauty and made exclusivley to commemorate Alexander Mcqueen. Its being sold in new york :/ downer , but i think you can buy it online? .
I love this scarf but unfortunatley, priced at $495 its not really in my price range tbh. It is a mix of silk and chiffon. I think i read somewhere that the skulls have been taken/influenced by previous collections.

Ok now the book. From what i can gather the book includes pictures of alexander mcqueens finest moments, catwalk shows etc.. It has an interveiw with him in it and also his commentation, i assume on his collections. I would write more but the website is playing up. Quote from the website about the book "Savage Beauty, published on the occasion of an exhibition organized by the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute in New York: preface by exhibition curator Andrew Bolton; contributions by Susannah Frankel and Tim Blanks: photography by Sølve Sundsbø. The book features the most iconic and radical designs of Alexander McQueen's prolific career with his own illuminating commentary, in addition to an interview with Alexander McQueen Creative Director Sarah Burton: features lenticular front cover "I put it in italics for you because .... im that nice. It costs $45, which is reasonable i guess.

This is a silver skull key ring, i think it means silver colour but at the price of it i would want a nice chunk of solid silver, but thats just me...It has swarovski crystals for eyes-yh dont we all- and a solid brass, logo embossed coin with an anti-allergic silver finish. Just in case you were debating buying it because you might come out in a rash.......

Don't get me wrong i love it but i would probably loose it. Seeing as its $125

Gifts
In the gits department (of the website) i found these cute key rings. I don't think they have anything to do with savage beauty but they follow the same idea and they come in different colours!! So i guess you coudl go off colour or just base it n the value of your house because you might have to sell it to buy one.

$80

$80

$95

$80

So yh thats my little post about Alexander Mcqueen gifts, if your ever thinnking what should i get ym friend for her birthday? there you ahve it , an exclusive alexander mcqueen key ring. Heres a link to the website where i got all the pcitures and info so all rights reserved and check it out http://www.alexandermcqueen.com/
