Fall / Winter

Most of you won't want to buy any more clothes for this fall / winter but i can assure you it will be worth your while. This season is brimming with cable knitting, layering and attention to detail. Even if it means pulling out that over sized sweater your granny knitted you. try re-inventing it perhaps as a dress, sync he in the waist with a thin belt to add shape and a waist, put on some leggings and some comfy uggs and there you have it. Bang on trend! xx

5 things you cannot go without this fall are:

1) Statement gloves. If you don't get anything else this winter get these. It doesn't matter what your style is look extra hard for whichever type you want be it bold gloves, cosy mittens or a combination.

These are all over the runway and dam right!

for the comfy factor splash out on some suede gloves. this sleek and soft fabric will stand the wear and tear and allow movement form your fingers. Plus it looks sheek but can be quite pricey. As you can see on the right these gloves are well finished and the soft camel colour may not be your first choice but i guarantee it will update anything you pair it with, be it a knee length skirt or peg leg trousers. I found these at : http://www.oliverbonas.com/p/FashionAccessories_Gloves/704977.htm

2) A fur bag. Not only will this keep everything you put in it warm it will give an overall winter look to any outfit you pair it with. Fur bags have been all over the runway and will add and instant christmassy, cosy feel to your old outfits. For example this Marc bag by Marc Jacobs is classy, unique and oozes fashionable designer. This look is really in this season so work hard to find a quirky fur bag with your name on it ;) (not literally or you'll be looking for some time!). This bag in particular is made out of sheep's skin so although good quality its not for everyone. So you may prefer:

This is £28 form Dorothy Perkins so its an investment but well worth it. Its also faux fur so there is no worry  there. this might be more in your price range than a designer satchel straight of the models shoulder.

Or perhaps you have won the lottery and want to splash out on this gorgeous hand bag priced at a whopping £1.365,64 It is of course from Yves Saint Laurent and includes the signature logo printed proudly across the front compartment. Its is lined with fox fur (not a season for animals :S) and has an adjustable strap. If you can afford it go ahead but i figure most people wont be buying this this Christmas. There is always hope that Santa will bring it (yh right i'l be getting an orange).

3) A cropped sweater. Now i know you'll probably be thinking cropped? whats the point? or perhaps you don't like walking down the street with your belly hanging out. But that's the beauty of this seasons cropped sweater. Its all about layering so underneath you could have a simple vest top, then the cropped sweater, then a cable knit scarf, and then a double breasted blazer. There is no limit to what you can do with a little know how from yours truly and some essential items. If you want some more detail on how to layer your knitwear check this out: http://www.fashionmagazine.com/blogs/shopping/2010/10/28/video-style-studio-layering-knits/
Its a video form the one and only Jenifer Campbell.

Cropped sweaters have been all over the runway as can be seen in the pictures below:
Phillip Lim - paired with a skirt and chunky ankle boots for a relaxed and cosy appeal.
Proenza schouler- Paired a chunky, bold knit sweater with an eye catching jump suit and statement bag.
Proenza schouler-continuing the pattern but this time has used a contrasting jumpsuit and a belt to add definition of the waist.
An over sized cropped sweater in a warm colour draws attention to that area whilst still complimenting the other items. The knee length skirt is both practical and very 70's whilst the high neck of the sweater means there is no need for a statement scarf ;'(

It is possible to find these on the high street(kind of) This beauty is from miss selfridge and is worth every penny all £25.00 of them because it can be worn with everything. The intricate silver lurex detail screams winter and incorporates both this seasons styles and colours.

4) A double breasted jacket or blazer. This adds a sharp, chic, tailored look to your knit wear and effortlessly brings in from day to night. Add a tailored double breasted jacket/blazer and it cinches in the waist both showing off/ adding curves where you need them. Suitable for all shapes as it gives off an hour glass figure. A baggier double breasted jacket will give a sleek but casual look which with the help of some accessories can be glammed up or glammed down for every occasion, like Botega veneta shows here (right) A word of warning these blazers don't come cheap but its worth investing in because in the long run you will have something to wear with everything and wont ever go out for style .
This blazer (left) is ideal for those of you who don't want to spend alot coming to a nice total of £45.00 from oasis. Whereas this tailored, unique jacket comes to a stonking £2337. But it is luxurious and blows the simple, navy oasis jacket out of the water. (right). Pair with some skinny, bright leggings for a sexy night look. It is balmain and was the highlight of the balmain runway. Who says money cant buy happiness?

5) Number 5 last but not least is the cropped jeans. These are great for the in between weather most of us will be receiving this winter. You can update them with a metallic blazer or some 50's style pumps. It doesn't matter because they work for every style and most shapes. However bottom heavy girls i would be wary as these can emphasis your calves so where jeans that finish just above the ankle with some turn up detail which will slim your legs and make them appear longer. Add some stiletto's (cant spell) and a jacket and your off to a nightclub or in my case more like the school disco but still XD .  Below you can see the work of the one and only isabel marrant. She sent these cropped jeans on to the runway and I'm glad she did because they are comfy and can be found on the high street and the catwalk. What more do you want .
For all my fellow girls and boys looking to find these on the high street don't worry. Here's just one example (right) these are £7.00 for south kennedy and can be worn all season round because although simple it means they are easy to customise plus a bargain. So look around if you want  ultra versatile fashion like this. Hope I've given you some ideas about what to wear this winter. Remember stay fashionable <3
