Yes girls and boys :) its coming up to winter now and day to day fashion is becoming chillier to wear. That skirt you bought and you want to wear buts its winter or perhaps you took my advice and bought a sweater dress but now your legs are turning blue then don't worry i have found a solution. Legwarmers! yes you heard me leg warmers. Many styles have come and gone and now its the legwarmers turn to return (that kinda rhymes wow!) to our shelves this winter. They are a curtain must have and are making appearances in all shapes and sizes. If you are still a bit wary of legwarmers then why not start small and just have them coming up over the top of your boots or uggs, this means they can be seen but they aren't attracting to much attention :)
To wear with a skirt:
Casual= Wear with some black tights for a slightly sexier appeal or some neon tights to really stand out and make a statement, or some leggings. Simply pull your legwarmers over the top and wear scrunched up below the knee on top of your leggings or tights. this will keep your toes cosy and your legs looking fab. Pair with your fave uggs because they are comfy+fashionable, or some comfy slip ons depending on where you are going.Night time= for a sexy look wear a figure hugging black/glittery pencil dress and a loose vest tucked in, on top of that either a tailored blazer of a satin style loose blazer to give a relaxed but edgy feel to the outfit, add some tight matching legwarmers and some killer heels. this will give your look more of an edge especially if you choose some bright or sparkly leg warmers. if done carefully they can bring your outfit instantly form day to night.
To wear with skinnies
Another great way to way your legwarmers for an every day look is to simply pull them over the top of your skinnies. I have done this on many and occasion and it looks good (if i may say so myself), if you are wearing boots or trainers a good way to do this is to pull the legwarmers halfway down your shoe so its covers them partly. This makes the wearer look more relaxed and chilled :). For those who are less confident with this look wear a neutral colour i find black always works best, but as you get more used to wearing legwarmers and you want to jazz your look up a bit then wear some with stripes or a bright colour. If it ties in with something else your wearing even better. Neon colours can look very retro and energetic whereas darker colours look more relaxed and mysteriously fashionable ha ha .
Night time- simply add some heels, a tight top and some sparkly leg warmers and your all set .
Finally with a dress
The best way to wear legwarmers is a dress is to wear them with tights, either black or a neutral/pastel colour. The dress should also be within the winter pallet range such as grey,pink,red,brown,purple. For a gentle look nothing to bright or eye popping. Simple can sometimes be best. Take the model on the left a simple grey dress has been paired with grey leg warmers and the belt simple ties it together. This is a very feminine look and can be worn for any occasion especially winter. Update the look on the left with some heels, statement jewelry and glittery clutch or for day keep the same but add either a cosy scarf or snowy satchel. See easy when you get the hang of it :)
